A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Enguri HPP LLC, the Energy Development Fund JSC and Enguri Attraction LLC. The agreement provides for developing the tourism potential of the Enguri HPP arch dam and the infrastructure on the adjoining territory.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed by Levan Mebonia, chairman of the Board of Directors of Enguri HPP LLC, Giorgi Chikovani, director of the Energy Development Fund JSC, and Nikoloz Antidze, chairman of the Board of Directors of Enguri Attraction LLC. The meeting was attended by the State Representative in Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti, Giorgi Guguchia.
Under the agreement the parties agreed that, within their respective competences, they will jointly plan all the legal, financial, technical and methodological measures needed to carry out the project. According to those attending the meeting, this initiative is important for raising public awareness of the cultural heritage monument and promoting it, as well as for attracting tourist flows.
It should be noted that a number of infrastructure projects are planned at the Enguri HPP arch dam. They include a discovery centre, a viewing platform, base jumping, a cable car, a zipline, a panoramic lift, a concert space and more.
