Four employees of Enguri HPP have tested positive for coronavirus. As the company told imedinews, several cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the settlement of Saberio in the Gali district, among them four employees of Enguri HPP LLC.
“Those infected and the people who had been in contact with them have been moved to territory controlled by Georgia and are under medical supervision. It is already known that ten people have tested negative. The infected employees were working online and had no particular contact with other employees of Enguri HPP.
Even so, there is no threat whatsoever to the functioning of Enguri HPP as a strategic facility — the technical personnel are distributed across shifts and the facility continues to operate as usual.
Enguri HPP LLC has been working remotely since 12 March 2020. In line with the epidemiological situation, throughout that time the staff have followed a specially drawn-up schedule, meaning that employees came in to work only in cases of urgent necessity. They underwent thermal screening every day, each of them was provided with medical masks and disinfectant solutions, and limiting the number of people on site made distancing possible. However, as you know, given the global scale of the new coronavirus pandemic, there is no guarantee of absolute prevention of infection, and accordingly no one is immune to it.
We stress once again that there is no threat to the full functioning of Enguri HPP and that the plant continues to operate as usual,” the company states.
